Ladies Only Sessions

Ladies only sessions are for any ability or fitness level, ages 16 and up.

The aim of these sessions is teach the art of Eskrima while giving you techniques that can be applied in real world situations should you ever need them. There is a bit more focus on adapting techniques and weapons that can be used in self defence situations against larger opponents.

We teach a mixture of weapons and empty hands. We appreciate that you are not going to be carrying a large stick with you as you go about your day but all aspects of the weapon training can be applied when you are unarmed. The weapons training is a great tool for making you able to defend yourself from a weapon should your opponent have one, but also for opening your mind to the different considerations of a self defence situation.

Like our other sessions, this is not a fitness class. Anyone of any fitness level will be able to join in and our focus is on the system and making it work for you rather than getting you to do push ups!

We appreciate that the idea of martial arts class can be daunting. These sessions are kept small, casual and friendly, but if you have any concerns or questions that you’d like to discuss before coming along, please get in touch via the Contact page. 

Please note that although they may be supported by a female assistant, the lead instructors in this class are male.

The Weapons

We teach the following weapons, as well as improvised versions of them, including things you may be carrying with you every day:

STICKS:
Single Stick; Double Stick; Staff

BLADE:
Dagger; Double Dagger; Karambit; Tomahawk

EMPTY HANDS:
Dirty Boxing & Grappling

ESPADA Y DAGA:
Stick & Dagger
